About Me
I’m Greg Hallam, a longtime resident of Tay Valley Township with over 30 years in the community. Tay Valley is more than a place on a map. It’s where we raise our families, support our neighbours, and build a life together. I have served twelve years on Council and contributed to key committees including Green Energy and the Fire Board.
Margot and I chose this community. I want to help ensure the next generation has every reason to make that same choice. I’m running for Deputy Reeve because I believe in practical leadership, honest communications and making decisions that reflect the priorities of all the residents in Tay Valley.

In the twelve years that I have been a Tay Valley councilor I've learned to listen carefully to my constituents, to timely respond to their concerns and in concert with like-minded councilors to effectively manage limited community resources to sustain and grow this wonderful township.

After twelve years on Council, I’ve seen firsthand what works and what doesn’t. I’m running for Deputy Reeve because I believe Tay Valley needs experienced, practical leadership that puts residents first.
What is your position on property taxes?
I believe in sound fiscal management — keeping tax increases responsible while still investing in the services and infrastructure our community depends on. Every dollar spent should deliver real value to residents.
How will you protect Tay Valley’s rural character?
Our rural character, heritage, and natural environment are what make Tay Valley special. I’m committed to thoughtful planning that accommodates growth without sacrificing the qualities that drew us all here.

Open dialogue and clear information with no surprises. I support more proactive outreach, plain-language updates, and making sure people have real opportunities to be heard before decisions are made.
What experience do you bring to this role?
Over 30 years as a Tay Valley resident, twelve years of Council experience, and direct involvement with key committees including Green Energy and the Fire Board. As a local business owner, I understand the challenges facing families and businesses in our area.
